Went on a few short hunts this week - an old house - an old park and a section of old sidewalk by a church.
Got a FE 12 - CO 46/47 hit along the sidewalk about 3" down by the old church - thought it was to shallow to be a silver Quarter - turned out to be a 1820 Large Cent in great condition !
I've found a total of ( 8 ) Large Cents so far - this 1820 is the oldest - the oldest two I found last year were dated 1822 and 1828. Cleaned this Large Cent in an Electrolysis Bath for 10 minutes.
Found all three Mercury Dimes at the park --- man ... don't you just love finding old Merc's !
The 1880 and 1899 Indian Cents are in better condition then they appear in the photo - glare from the light.
The 1929 date on the Buffalo Nickel is faint but readable.
