Found Some Old Coins - Ring - Keys

I'm still working crazy hours and have not had much free time at all to get out hunting. But I was able to get out on a few shorter hunts over the last ten days or so.
I went back to sites that have produced some nice finds in the past - two abandoned houses, an 1800's church parking area and few older sections of sidewalk.

I've been in this hobby almost two years now - I did end up digging my 4000th coin - and my 300th Wheat Cent this weekend. I've been walking over tons of shallower zinc / clad hits this season - mainly digging the deeper targets - it's working out well - I know older targets are not always deep - ( I dug an 1820 Large Cent that was only 3" down last month) and that I could be missing some good finds - but I've already found more silver coins this season - then I did all of last year.

I needed the 1913 D and the 1931 Wheat Cents for my coin folders - the ring is just low grade costume jewelry - but it has a nice floral pattern on it - the brass keys look on the older side.

Nice finds Mark! Thanks for the story and the pictures. I haven't been able to hunt much either.

Nice finds! I detect parks pretty much like you do. I find by detecting this way I have a better chance of coming home with more oldies in my pouch. Unless I'm hitting an empty lot, plowed field, wooded area, or the beach I leave the shallow clad behind. I do dig all nickel hits, and will dig about 15 to 20 pull tab hits each time out.

Great totals and finds. Your right about being careful of not diging shallow targets my 1774 Reale from last week was only 3 inches down.
300 wheats is great
