Found Some Silver - Jewelry & Relics

Well-known member
Here are some finds from the last few hunts that I went on.
I hunted around at few old houses, on a vacant lot where a 1800's house once stood and along a section of very old sidewalk.

The 1893 V- Nickel is in rough shape but the 1908 V- Nickel is in better than average condition.

The "Miner's Tag" has the #42 on it. Every miner carried one of these tags.
They would hang them on a board outside of the mine before going in to work and them remove the tag from the board at the end of their shift.
This was how the coal company could tell if any of their employee's were still in the mine.

The Pocket Watch has no stampings on it but it appears to be older.

The Cuff Link is made of "Silvertone"and has a 1958 Patent Date on it.

The Sunoco Gas Company - U.S Landmark's series Token was produced by the Franklin Mint in 1970.

The Sewing Thimble is made of Aluminum.

Good Hunting ! --- Mark

Congratulations on the great finds. The V nickels look so much better than the ones I usually find and BTW, those Sunoco Car tokens always
look and sound just like a silver dime before they are dug. Fool me every time- LOL. Happy Hunting
