Finally the ground has thawed enough in Maine for me to get some hunting in with my new etrac, still getting used to the sounds etc. doing well so far I think. I've been digging a lot of pennies thinking it may be silver though, still trying to figure out how to tell the difference.
Not bad, not bad at all for your first 4 hunts. Congrats. What part of Maine are you from? My wife's great uncle lives in Freeport, right on the Casco Bay.
Congratulations on the silver! Very nice looking pictures. I wouldn't worry about trying to tell the difference between silver and pennies. The Zinc pennys you can, but the others hit so well in the 43-46 range that you usually just dig 'em anyway.
On the other hand, older silver (barbers and seateds) can come all the way down in the 40-42 range and I've heard even lower.
