Fresh out of the hole :-)

I went back to the zoo / park that I've been hunting since about October, I decide to use my 13 inch ultimate coil. I have been over this exact same spot three times with the E Trac and once with the CTX. I decided to give it one more try going extremely slow and using some iron discrimination. I was running fast on, deep on, multi tones, conductive sounds. With my auto sensitivity running at + 3 hovering around 22 or 23. On my second pass I get a high tone with a meter reading of 14-46 jumping around a little bit. I stick my periscope probe into the ground and make contact at 8 inches. The first target that pops out is a Mercury dime, after doing a happy dance, I stick my probe back in the hole and get another hit. I'm hoping quarter but expect a wheatie. Lo and behold out pops another dime. At this point I'm beside myself wondering how in the world I could have missed this target. Back in the hole goes the probe and I get one more hit underneath a root and out comes one more rosy. So from an area that I had figured I'd cleaned out I ended up finding 3 silver dimes and two wheaties. I know it's nothing old, but,, around here silver coins are a nice little treat. I'll post a picture when I get to the house.

Thats one great coin drop you found there.

Yeah, it always pays to go over old territory with new hardware, new strategies or different settings.

This really makes me wonder how much I've left behind over the years at various good spots. Things that make you say hmmmm!!

yes its like squeezing the juice out of a lemon. the first juice comes out easy. then it gets less and less but if you try hard you can still squeeze some out. one of me best spots, i must have went to 50 times because its pretty convenient, my "training area" for my etrac, i found over 200 wheats and something like 40 silver coins. again and again i would go over this place and always manage to find some cool things, ill never foget that place and wish i could go back in time to see what the heck went on there in the 40s-50s. a lot of activity but youd never guess it now.

Dan, Congrats on the Silver and wheats. I'm familiar with the park. How many silvers have you found there?

I've found 17 or 18 since Oct. All with Minelabs and all in the same area.

Good job. Hope you leave a couple for us that travel through from time to time...:beers:
