From Mother & Dad 41

Found this at an abandoned school building recently - the school has a date stone that reads 1900. Got a deeper pull tab signal, but it just sounded slightly better than a pull tab so I dug and was rewarded with this lovely 14K gold initial ring. This is only the second gold initial ring I have dug in twelve years and this one is beautifully inscribed inside "From Mother & Dad 41" in a cursive script. I'm assuming that the date is 1941 and not 1841. It looks like the ring broke approx. where the "&" was engraved and there was adhesive residue on the gold that I removed where poor AK must have tried to mend it with some tape. I wouldn't even know where to begin to try and locate AK and I don't even know whether he/she was a student there.

I'd say you're right about trying to locate AK:smoke:...and I would just figure that ring is now a permanent part of your collection:)

That's a nice find:thumbup:

Anne Klein today, but she wouldn't take my call!

Seriously, I wish I could return it as it's a very touching inscription...it really personalized it for me, my other initial ring has no engravings in it other than a karat mark.

Regards, Erik

Nice gold find.
Yellow instead of silver or copper is always a nice surprise.
