frustrated...so I doorknocked

These are from my last 3 hunts, public & private. Ventured into the town down the road from Podunk where I've had some success lately and got skunked today except for a couple wheats. So in my frustration with my luck today I tried to muster up some confidence and did a doorknock just before I headed home. Much to my suprise the old Gal said "have at er". Weather turning to crap so it'll most likely be a few days before I can start? Place is 1890's and after talking with the Gal it turns out place has some history and was once a doctors office? She's been there 43 yrs. I try not to get too excited on these as some are good, some aren't but this place is HUGE and some of it hasn't seen any dirt work so I "should" be able to find something just due to the size of the place? Hate doorknocking but every now and then (usually in frustration) I land one..... I hope it pans out next week, we'll see......

Congrat's on the finds and good luck with the old Doc's place, you just never know until you check it out.....

Well at least you got a couple silvers!

Maybe that door knock will pay off!

I also hate door knocking. For me its a little on the creepy side keeping stuff from someone's private property, just how i feel personally. Guess i'm not into this hobby enough to go door knocking though i have done it a few times.

On the other hand, i don't get that creeped-out feeling from searching farm fields or around abandoned homes.
In those cases its as Admiral Farragut said during the battle of Mobile Bay during the Civil War 'Dam the torpedos, Full speed ahead'

Keeping stuff from someones private doesn't bother me a bit once an agreement has been made? My terms are usually they can have anything other than the coins and I generally tell them if I find 4-5 silvers (or just a GOOD hunt) that I'll buy them a pie, and I've bought a few and/or given up a couple gold rings in the past.

Probably jinked myself by mentioning the place on here? I wanted to post those newer silvers as not to mix them in with all the barbers, mercs, IH's,V's, buffies, and slq's I'll be posting next week.....LMAO!!!!!

Thanks for the words guys.......

Hah -- two silvers for 3 hunts would be considered great hunting here, not nearly bad enough to cause one to try door knocking!

What keeps me going is that some of the door knocks are really, really good. . .

Great finds! Nice! Doorknocked is not easy for me because I am deaf and my wife don't like it! She said that bother people!

I have done a couple door knocks but prefer to catching them outside and then pull in and ask ...

John,
If I was hard of hearing I would carry a card to show people when they answered the door,
You can explain your hearing problem and your hobby as well on the card and ask permission to detect their yard...
All you need to do is say hello and wear a nice friendly smile

that's what my friend told me same thing! :poke: I will try it! Thank you!

Private property is by far our best chances of hitting the more interesting coins - even houses built as late as 1960-1965 can give up multiple silvers!

Real nice !
