Fun hunt with the Omega this morning.

Took the Omega to a spot that the LTD was always a bit on the chattery side when running upper 80's sen and that little rascal performed admirable this morning. Was able to run 99 sen, 1 disc, d3 tones and a gb of 57-60 with the 11" coil and the Omega was ever so quiet. It also got me 2 silver dimes, a 1919 Merc and 53 Rosies along with a 42P war nickel, 6 wheats, a few pieces of clad and Memorial cents, a junk ring, a peep show token and a couple of older bullets. Both dimes were 5 and 6" deep and locked on 84/85. The war nickel was 4" and read 57-58. 1 wheatie was right at 8" and while the tone was good, it was a bit bouncy, but pretty tight vid, 80-85. The junk ring was 3" and read as a nickel, 56-57. I believe I will keep it dusted off for a while. HH jim tn

not sure what you mean by "better." To me, both (all three, as a matter of fact) coils hit all coin targets pretty much the same. Quite honestly, I use the 10" coil more then the 11"dd. I occasionally have a problem with the 10" and haven't sent it back for a check up yet and yesterday it went bonkers again and I put the 11" on it for this mornings hunt. I do think the 11" MIGHT get a touch more depth, but I am not 100 % convinced of that either. Sorry I couldn't answer your question better. HH jim tn

I completely agree...Love my Omega and the 10" concentric works great. I can wear myself out using the 11" DD in high trash areas digging the dreaded "Pry Caps"...The Omega with the 10" is fantastic coinshooter! My ground also typically runs from around 55-58.

Elton, I have a spot or two where emi does affect the Omega, so it isn't totally immune. It does, though, seem to be less affected at these spots then did my F 75 and now the LTD. HH jim tn

Nice finds Jim ! I know what you mean about keeping the Omega dusted off...This month I've deliberately tried to stay away from mine, but just cant stop myself from picking it up...after a couple of weeks break from it, it just felt so comfortable to use again and started hitting on coins as if it had never left my hands.

Personally, the 11" DD is an OK coil for open areas for me, but I use it less than the stock 10" elliptical concentric. The 11' DD is about 11
