Only had 30 minutes to hunt so I went to the ball fields and grazed the off street dirt parking. I was getting a solid hit every few feet. The dirt was very hard so my pennies were slow to recover. To my surprise one was a ring! I thought it was a nut and then the 15 diamonds smiled up and I was hopeful I had a winner at last. Then I remembered it registered too high. It was heavy and it was getting dark- nearly 8 pm. I pocketed it and walked another 30 feet to calm down then headed home. As soon as I ran some water over it I could tell it was not silver or gold, so my 'diamonds' MAY not be highest quality (read glass?).
Well, tomorrow...

I guess I can. I am not a big jewelry guy, but it IS Memorial Day. I have been looking for a gentle (& gentile?) way to solicit volunteers to have their yards checked and maybe some historical land they have control over. I'll let you know how it goes!

Well, I wore it to church- Sunday School, Sermon and Communion. No one said a word. Evening church I talked about my finds and MDing. I found a 1946s penny and a 1957 dime there the day before. Not a lot of response. Some stolen coin collection stories, etc. I will be patient for an invitation to MD someones cabin or backyard.:goodnight:
