Hello Everyone,

My name is Rodney and I am actually Jeff's brother. I have been living in AZ for the past 25 years and just recently moved back to IL. I purchased my first detector, a Titan 3000 XD, in 1997. I did a little swinging out in the Phoenix area, but never really got all that involved and did not really have anyone to go with. Once I moved back, Jeff got me involved in the sport again and I just recently purchased a new Garrett AT-Pro. Since I have purchased it, I think there has only been one or two days I have not been out with it.

Well, I plan on coming to the next meeting with Jeff and joining the club. In the meantime, Jeff has been taking me to a few places like Bradley Park and Glenn Oak Park. When we went to Bradley Park, I actually found something I need help identifying. I believe it may be a fired Civil War pistol bullet, but I am not exactly sure. So if anyone could please help me with identifying this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I also look forward to meeting everyone at the next meeting.

Thank you,

Rodney

Hi Rodney and welcome to the forum. It will be great to meet you and also to see Jeff again. I hope you're keeping him inline! I would call the bullet a three ringer aka Minie Ball. Congratulations on the find. HH, Nancy

Welcome. Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting. We have a great bunch of members.

I'm not sure what to think about your bullet. In the pictures I don't see the white patina one would expect to see on 150 year old lead.

Welcome to the forum and club Rodney, we are looking forward to meeting you at the next meeting.

As far as the bullet goes, it is hard to say because of the condition and patina. If you had found it at Glen Oak Park, I would say maybe CW since there was a training camp there but Bradley Park
