Garmin Venture CX map info

I am having trouble loading my maps to my GPS unit. They will come up on the computer but I am not able to get them to load onto the unit. I have it hooked to a usb but it only asks about a com 1,2,3,4, I bought a 512mb card for it but cannot get the maps to transfer. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
 
You may wanna look at the Garmin Website for a New Update for MapSource

Make sure that your MapSource is up to date - free update can be downloaded from Garmin website.
Than, make sure that in the receiver, in setup, the communication protocol is set to "Garmin" and than... with receiver hooked up and on, MapSource should find the receiver without much problem. OH, if there are any connection troubles, don't hook up the receiver to a USB hub. Connect it directly to one of the USB ports on the computer.
