My family goes back to the 1800's in the logging business. My dad was born near Sanford, Fla. (1912) into a cypress logging business. My grandfather made it through a boiler explosion. Lost a leg and had a silver plate in his skull. After recovery (whatever that meant) he continued working. My dad joined the Army in 1930 and was stationed at Fort Kamehameha on Oahu, Hawaii. In 1961 I was stationed at NAS Barbers Point less than a mile from where he had been stationed. Small world. More history. The point is that I would love to detect that old logging camp in Fla. It'll never happen. DOP, you have some great history there. Thanks!
