I have been out of the metal detecting hobby now for about 20 years. My last detector was a Garrett Master Hunter 5 and I loved it. I am looking to get back in to the hobby, but need some information on the performance of the GTI 1500.
I live just outside Nashville, TN. (you know, where a lot of the Civil War battles happened) I know the GTI 1500 is an excellent coin and jewelry hunter, but can it find those ever elusive mini balls, belt buckles, buttons and shells from over 140 years ago? More than likely, what is left to find will be below 12 to 18 inches.
Is there a detector that is more suitable for this purpose? I would like to stay loyal to Garrett as they have always been easy to deal with and good on their word for fixes and repairs.
