Gettin better with the Trac

Saturday and Sunday was nothing but detecting days. I had been a little worried about the E Trac depth but had only hunted old homesteads. Well the ground was good enough to dig so I figured I would try some sites where I knew things were deep. The V nic was about 10 inches deep, not sure what made me dig it, it kinda sounded like a piece of tin foil and was real choppy, so i figured I would dig a deep plug and see if the signal got better. As soon as I dropped the X-1 in the hole I got a solid 12-15 and it produced. The union breast plate was about 10 inches and it sounded great of course. But finding civil war relics around here is almost unheard of so I was very happy to pull it out. Thanks for looking:blink:

That's a heck of a find looks to me like, sure glad you didn't hit it with the digger, that'd be my luck....congrats! ken-ks

Nice finds! Glad to see that you are getting out, thawing rapidly here and have been out for a few quick hunts, got a few wheats but no silver yet, but here comes spring! Im sure you will get the hang of your Etrac soon. HH

That is totally cool.

Nice finds. I like the 1896 coin and the Eagle looking thing.

I had cleaned the nic. unless its a real good date I clean them because they will always be corroded when graded. Thanks guys for all the kind words.

Thanks for the pictures, they are real clear. Was there any frost left up there in Montana. I still think in places after 8 inches you might find a little.

The ground has been real good in the sunny areas, but where there is shadows all day long its still frozen solid.
