Very interesting but I'm just not buying it. I really don't go along with this premise. I do think that different detectorists do hear different things from the same signal But I believe this to be simply a difference in skills. There are lots of guys that think the units are magic. They're not.
Get out there Potter

I have been a musician for over 60 years. This is why I have said, in my experience, that the Deus Full Tones has the most information about a target. I use both the Deus and Dues 2. I listen to the lower bands in the 60 MHz to 80 MHz range because that seems to be where the iron, ground, and other annoying sounds come in that tend to degrade the upper, better ones.

The human hearing hears best around 1000 Hz. That is probably what most detectorists listen for as target information. I do very well, in my opinion, on trash-to-treasure odds.

I run with no discrimination 90% of the time. The other 10% is when I know what I'm looking for.

You hear hundreds of sounds at all times, but you have learned to concentrate more on the sounds that matter to you. You hear the birds chirping, but they are just a background noise until you concentrate on them. The wind. There are such sounds when metal detecting. You concentrate on the sounds coming out of the headphones, but you hear some sounds over others. Depends on what you're listening for. It's not as pronounced because your listening is concentrated on the entire sound in your headphones, but you can choose to listen for certain sounds.

If you hunt saltwater you learn to dig those deep crappy signals some I dig most would pass up as junk but they're usually
a deep silver or clad coin you really need to hunt all types of conditions I believe that also makes you a way better
Detectorist Im with Soouthwind I hunt 95% of the time with no discrimination also.
