Gift - Bounty Hunter Quick Silver

Hello everyone,

I've just been given this detector as a gift. I feel bad but didn't want to refuse it. I've been helping my neighbour when he's gone detecting and they've kindly bought me this as an early christmas present as we may go detecting this weekend.

Looking for some tips on how to best use it or what it is good at finding.

Lisa

Best to read the owner's manual completely then take it out in the back yard with several different types of coins and listen to how each coin sounds plus look at the # reading on the screen.
Keep it simple at first and as time goes on you can learn more.

Thank you. He is going to help me out with it this weekend too but I'll definitely read the manual otherwise I'll just look ungrateful if I haven't.

I had a bounty hunter detector some years ago and liked it, you should be able to find anything that any other detector can find.
Keep the coil as close to the ground as possible to get maximum depth, you should be able to get down around 8 inches.

My brother has this model. The way he hunts with it, I’m surprised he finds as much as he does. He whips that coil side to side, 3-4” off the ground and flies at the swooping speed of a seagull 🤣
Despite this unconventional hunting method, he had found many nice old coins with the quicksilver. Don’t let this machine fool you, it works well. Have fun 🙂

I'm looking forward to the weekend now. I hope it doesn't rain.
