Ya know at first this had me a little confused. Th'er net & Findmall. [There is a pic of a Gaelic inscribed wedding band and a dead five foot leatherback that washed up on our private beach. I got the ring in the water from the public Cape Cod beach next to ours.]Once I check what I thought were two different forums I see they are now linked. Good, less navigation. I've been doing these posts from my iPhone and it's not bad. Really anxious to get more detecting in now that my life has taken a course for tranquility. If you didn't see my reply to Matt there is a little info there re what I've been up to. I'm still trying to contact my good buddy John M in CT. He hasn't returned my messages and I hope his life is going well. We last got out in December 2009 and dug colonial stuff and generally had a blast. I may have to get on my motorcycle and drive the 50 short miles to see if he's there! I'm hoping he'll see these posts. The man is a true friend. Anyway I'm real good these days. I joined a gym(steady weight training for 3 years) added 25 solid pounds, haven't cut my hair in three years and found a sweet, unspoiled and beautiful woman to marry. She likes my finds, especially from the water. She's big into ceramics so I make sure to keep all the better shards from my colonial site(s). We often get out riding and exploring the back roads. Now riding a motorcycle and trying to eyeball sites to hunt takes extreme caution, then there are those dang deer. Been riding over 32 years so I do know the hazards. My ex wife was killing me financially, emotionally and I filed in Dec 2006. Took till April '08 to finish that and it came out great. My daughter still has issues from the divorce but it's better than what she witnessed for years. I'll turn 54 in Oct and can retire after 55. Then my detectors will be burning up the batteries far more often. It's real good to reconnect here. I'll insert a pic or two as to tie all this together with a face.

I get the "hippie" comment often :clapping:
I guess I'm starting to resemble what I looked like 30 years ago. Glad to hear from you. Well, time to split from work now. Gotta love these smart phones. Great way to stay connected.
I'll be back.
Take care & HH!

We really had fun and I'm so glad to see that pic and hear from the group. Here is a short story. As you know it rained all last summer in the North East. Gold in the water was hard to score. After a good storm I found these in an approx 10x10 foot area. Waist deep in Nantucket Sound. All were located in about fifteen minutes. What made this great is that my fianc

Nothing like friends sharing good places to detect. Gaf has a great ear using tone ID. Saw him pull out some deep stuff, a gold and garnet ring at a ball field that was 7 or 8 inches down. I can't forget The half dollar you dug at around 11". Locating signals like that is talent gained with practice.
