Probably calcite, though it can have many different colors depending on the chemicals within.
Orange is a very common color in fluorescents. I was just down around Winnemucca, Nevada, and the ground was
covered with orange fluorescents. Nice finds in any case.

In Michigan's Upper Peninsula along the western Lake Superior shore line they hunt these and call them Yooperites
