Took an old mate out yesterday, 78 years young, with his new GMT. By the end of the day, him 5 bits, me zilch. He even got one of them just ten feet away from my car, just to rub it in. He,s been detecting since the first machines hit the goldfields over here. Full of great stories and a pleasure to detect with. Good on him.
What coil did the old mate have on his GMT?
to do some question and answer with him. He has got to be a walking library on this nugget shooting stuff. From my own experience, the new does not go ahead without the old and those old machines did and still do find gold. The biggest difference between back when and now is the easiest and biggest gold has pretty much been picked up. What it would have been like to have today's machines and go back to the late 50's and early 60's.
