I had a really nice indian head buried and I knew where it was in my test bed and I still cut it after finding it with the 600. Reminds me when I found a breast plate and after 100+ years I cut it. What your worst/best story of damage to a good find!
 
Always the way.. Dig a hundred piece of clad or junk without touching it and then strike the silver, or copper...
