Go figure you buy a Omega and get a free 11" DD coil

now !! Man I loose money everyday.maybe they are reconsidering what it takes to get performance.pretty good deal omega and 2 coils for $599.00.Thats crazy right there.Who thinks they'll be standard before too long?

Keith Southern

Well it looks like people that got a Omega with one coil just lost about $200 on their machine on resale. I would guess a single coil Omega would go for under $400 now if not lower. Who would pay over $400 for a used one with just 1 coil? I would gladly trade my concentric for a DD. It would be nice if FT would at least give a discount to early Omega buyers. I kept saying I wouldn't buy one till the coils were released and I did anyway. Kinda gives me buyers remorse. I think next time I will catch the caboose instead of the engine when a new detector comes out. Seems like you can get more of the train if you wait.

A major sponsor on a forum with a ChuChu is making the offer. Whether it's an official Factory offer, that I can't say. Times are tough and he may just be dumping inventory. But he also states it includes the current mail in offer for the digger & scoop. If it is an official Factory offer all I can say is Wow! Either that product has a very high margin or they're taking a haircut.

I've been banned from there for 5 or 6 years. :ban: Thanks for the info Bill.

I have asked for clarafication on this from FT. The way I read a recent memo on this, it's not allowed.

If I can, I would do the same, A free 11" DD coil with the purchase of a Omega 8000.

Looks like those of us who purchased an Omega even as late as this week just got the short end of the stick!

I was certainly starting to like the Omega, but if that's the way new customers are treated I may have to re-think my decision on this and future 1st Texas products!!!

Keith

It was the dealers trying to pump up sales.

First Texas gave it's dealers permission to bundle items in as they see fit. In this case it was the 11" coil. The dealers take the "hit" on the cost of this deal, not First Texas.

This is a situation where a dealer decided to throw in the coil for free in order to spur sales. He's taking the hit on his profit to do so. FT didn't go from only selling the accessory coil to "giving it away" to the consumer. Now other dealers, if they choose, are providing this incentive in order to keep the playing field level. This stuff happens all the time with many consumer products and there is only so much companies can do to control it. FT certainly isn't the heavy here. Actually no one is. So I gotta ask this.......when you're hunting with a buddy and you find a nice Barber dime and then 10 minutes later he finds a Seated half, do you feel like you got screwed or are you happy for your find and his also? Not being critical of anyone here, just being real and reasonable. There are countless examples of folks in our society that live their lives dwelling on the premise that someone or some group is screwing them over and being unfair. Just how well does that work out and for them? Looks like nothing but self-inflicted destructive stress from where I sit. Enjoy your detector no matter how equipped, enjoy whatever finds you make, and enjoy the day......you never know when it might be your last.

maybe they would start giving us the DD as standard issue in the future. But still you never know.

Thanks

let go of some change there is some deals to be had.I've seen some good deals here lately on detectors I'm just scared to turn loose to much money on them right now.Hey I'm not mad I paid more some times you win sometimes you well just get by. Ha-Ha but its all fun any way.I might to think about another detector now that I study on it...

I'd really like to pull the lever on a new car under the latest Gov incentive program since I have an older used truck that would qualify but I struggle with the whole thing in principle and more so, just don't want to spend the money right now. The temptations abound all around! :)

I appreciate your thoughts and insights on this matter. Sorry for getting upset earlier,

I'm not happy with the situation but I'll get over it, especially when that Omega finds me that Barber dime or Seated Half that Brad referred to.

Responding to some of the complaining in this thread: Some people seem to think that when they buy a product, the manufacturer owes them a promise that the manufacturer will not ever do anything to improve it or to make it cost less or to obsolete it with something better. In other words, that the world is supposed to stop when they buy something.

A few of y'all have heard "the parable of the day laborers". Same principle.

I'll be quite blunt. It is our mission at First Texas - Fisher to improve products, to come out with new and better models, and to reduce costs. Maybe there's a company that promises their customers the world has stopped, but we ain't that company.

"Maybe there's a company that promises their customers the world has stopped, but we ain't that company".

"Please do not ever become that company"......... You guys are doing a great job with Products, and Service if needed.

:surrender:As one of the complainers I apoligize. Next time I will have my coffee first and think before I post.

Darn good post Brad! You do have a way with words.

Dave J. Thanks for your input and telling it like it is. I am happy with my Omega and don't regret buying it.

I agree with you blacktoe. I have considered getting the 11dd. but gulped at the price. Maybe FT could offer us earlier buyers a discounted price on the double d. That would probably cheer us up a bit.
