Right there with ya Donna. I have a severe allergy to aquatic creatures with razor sharp teeth, lol. Would be different if I was in FL's clear waters where I could see what's swimming around, but like your beaches in NJ, beaches in MD & DE have dark/murky water, so once about a foot deep, I can't see my feet or a black coil, makes pinpointing more challenging. But the yellow coil of my Dual Field PI is more visible, so that's my new go to for hunting water & wet now. I only hunt in water up to knee deep during low tide, but knee deep in low tide is about waist/chest deep during high tide, so I'm still able to get to where most bling is lost (10ft rule).
I've been running a Sovereign Elite (see profile pic) with 12x10 & 15x12 SEF Butterfly coils, in a Minelab pouch mounted chest high for the last 14 years, hunting dry, wet, and very shallow water. I recently picked up a Dual Field PI; you graciously sent me a coil cover for the 12" Spider coil. Thanks again for that! Also picked up an X-Terra Elite as a backup to my Sov and Dual Field, also will use for land hunting permissions, cherry picking, etc. I'm an old school, twist knobs guy, so I'm having to learn all the digital settings and how to operate all the doo dads on the X-Terra, lol.
