Gold Ring Found- Can you translate the inscription please?

C. Nyal de Kaye

Yesterday I found a rather nice 6.5 gram gold ring. It is inscribed in language that I can't even recognise. The pic shows my drawing of it. I tried to photograph it, but could not get one that was readable. Does anyone have any idea of what language it is, and what it says?

Thanks Therick, I think that you may be right. Following his post I looked up elfin rings and they look suspiciously like the one I found. If I get some more info I will place it here.

It is a Lord of the Rings, fantasy ring. They've made tens of thousands of them. They have been made of almost anything from 24K gold and platinum to brass and tungsten carbide which looks like gold. I hope yours has a 24K or at least a 12K stamped into it somewhere.

You can see photos of dozens of them on ebay by doing a search on Lord of the Rings and then choosing jewelry. Here is a link to a search I did

Here is a link to a jewelry store that just sells real gold ones with a closeup of your inscription and the translations of the script on the inside and outside of the ring

I found a brass one about 4 or 5 years ago.

Therick and SteveP are correct - it is all confirmed now that it is a Lord Of The Rings fantasy ring. It is now known to be 9ct gold and so is quite a good find. I told my wife that this Forum would sort it out pretty quickly and you did. Thanks to everyone for your contribution in solving this mystery. I had no idea what it was even though I have read Tolkien, but I have not seen the films.

Don't tell anybody, now you have the power to RULE THEM ALL!!!!:rofl:
