Gone Hunting's program

Hi, I'm kind of new to this forum, and would like to know if the (Gone Hunting) program for the CTX is on this forum (I couldn't find it). Could someone tell me exactly where it is or could you upload it? Thanks in advance, John

Try this link:

http://www.findmall.com/read.php?86,1723472,page=1

If that doesn't help with the MLF file, Google the following word for word:
Here a few of the CTX Programs that I have. I hope that you are able to download them. I will post more as I get them.

This search will present "CTX Programs" and within this link there is a mention of the
MLF file you are seeking...

I'm not having any luck finding a (downloadable) mlf file. I'm sure someone has it on there machine because its a popular program.

Try googling his web site. I' not sure if I can post the site here or I would give you the link.

Once you get it on your machine, you may find the iron tone gets pretty anoying like I did. I changed the iron tone to 80hz and now it is tolerable. I know it is just personal preference but thought I would share my experience.

I'm not sure that I understand the dire need for the .mlf file when the exact instructions for setting it up in the exchange program are given in the link above. Seriously, If you sit down and tinker with it for five minutes and follow the directions on the screenshot, you will see that you can set it up yourself in no time at all. Give it a go! GL, JJ

I see a lot of talk on the forums about this program, What is it that makes it "good" over the stock program? Is it deeper? Does it allow you to hear faint signals better or more? Or is it because there is not much descrim? What will ground/coin get me? thanks, Just trying to understand this machine. thanks

I dont know if the GH program does anything at all except increase confidence level. "Joe is using it and getting good stuff so it has to be good!" It is a great start, but after a few months most folks will tweak it, make some changes, store several others of different iterations, and basically start to expand the incredible capabilities of the machine. To me it is really not the disc, the sense, or the tones set but all the sub functions like fast, deep, seawater, and the different combinations that make it a great machine. I had an e-trac, wonderful machine, then I got the CTX. To me the CTX is sort of an E-trac that grew up and has a lot more wisdom. Is there room for improvement, yeah, like processor speed, maybe a user desktop program that will do a machine test for each function, including the coils. Heck, almost all computers nowadays have 'clean-up, problem resolution, error resolution programs. Why not the CTX?

If you think you have the ideal combined mode program setup then you are not as likely to experiment. The GH program is just one possible setup - great for those who are just starting out, but if you don't start experimenting you will never discover the CTX's strengths (and uncover its weaknesses).

The program gets a lot of promotion because it brings in business. If people think that there is something special that will "Turn the CTX into a BEAST!" they will seek it out and maybe spend a few dollars in the process. It's just one of many configurations for the CTX that will get you off to a good start until you find your own settings.
