GOOD BYE, BEEN GREAT KNOWING AND POSTING WITH SOME OF YOU. YOU ARE DEAR FRIENDS.

Why are you leaving? Just because some believe differently than others....doesn't mean we are to be offended and leave! That is why there are so many different churches even in the same faiths.....people disagree in some passages of the Bible but should not leave! I'm sorry you are leaving us and hope I haven't offended you, although, I do believe a little differently and believe in all the Spiritual Gifts God gives us to serve Him for our good and for His purpose! May God go with you and come back when you are able to do so! Amen! Ma Betty

What are you kidding. Why are you leaving , you are family. We all have disagreements on different things , but familys always pull together. We are all from different denominations and do not see everything the same , but we worship one GOD. Please do not leave as I always like to read you post and what you have to say. If you are going to leave I pray blessings on you and You will be missed.

Not leaving for good. Obviously one or two on here feel that I am a dog just because I see it different. I asked for proof of their view. All I saw was words. If I offended any of you, especially dirtdigginlady, Lisa and Ma, I am sorry but I do not apologize for my view or stand. Some of us are from different denominations just because we see the Bible differently. If we are saved we are all in the same boat. A man in California ask a simple question and he has yet to get a simple answer. I choose to follow the Bible as I believe God has lead me to follow it, and I assume you or some of you have chosed to do that to. If any of you question my views and stand on ANY issue, ask me and I will give you the Scripture to back up my stand. I do not have anything against any of you, not matter what you believe.

Hey DK ... Please reconsider your thought of leaving - even if for a little while. I admit my beliefs are different than most of you, in that I worship on Sabbath (Saturday) but so did Jesus and, if it's good enough for Him, it's good enough for me. My favorite version of God's Word is The New King James Version, although I own and read many other versions, including the 'Tanakh', which is a literal translation of The Old Testement, from the original Hebrew. Whatever decision you make, may God bless you and yours always.

DK,I will tell you something here....My mother was raised Baptist.....My dad Primitive Baptist......My mother started going to a Charismatic Church, sometimes they went to Church together at their own Churches and sometimes separate to their Church and alone.....my brother is southern Baptist .....OK now my sister and I are Methodist.....can you imagine what supper time was like at my parents house........We all get along fine love each other and God, my parents are in Heaven.....The gospel would not have spread as fast as it did if Paul and John Mark I believe had not have different opinions so they went their own way.....sometimes things happen for a reason and it will make sence later.....feel free to correct me on the names here.....anyway my point is We are all The Church and nothing can separate us from the love of God In Christ Jesus our Lord....Rom.8,38-39
May God Bless All My Brothers and Sisters here forever Amen
Dan

Dk, I do hope you reconsider and can agree to disagree. I chose not to post on that thread for a reason....I KNEW it would cause problems. It is so easy to misread a person's tone in type. When dealing with a subject as controversial as tongues and comparing different faiths, it is understandable that people would be passionate on their beliefs. Regardless of how we believe, we had a newcomer post on our forum and whether we agree with him (or anyone else for that matter), believe his explanation or his dissection of our posts, we have a responsibility to show him love-the love of CHRIST. If I were a newcomer reading the pentecostal/charismatic thread, I would be very turned off by this forum. Thankfully, I KNOW everyone here better than that! I do hope you continue to post!

DK, to the contrary. The "man in CA" got an answer. Re-read through the thread, and you will see it in one of the replies, even to the point where I spell back (to make sure I'm understanding it correctly).

The answer was, that the reason I Cor. 12:30 doesn't *mean* that not all Christians speak (or should speak anyhow) in tongues, is that the verse only applies to when it's a person's MAJOR gift. But that there is no prohibition that we call can't have it, to some degree. The example given to me, which I can understand, is this: Take for example the gift of faith, right? We all know that those that don't have an immeasurable gift of faith, don't have ZERO faith, right? Or those that have the gift of evangelism: they are specifically specially gifted there right? But the rest of us can still lead someone to the Lord at times, yet it is not our "specialty". So if you look at it in those ways, we all have all the gifts, but they are all not our MAJOR gifts.

Thus, for the non-charismatic position to use I Cor. 12:30 to say that "not all speak in tongues", can be skirted around. Ie.: it doesn't say, what it appears to say on the surface.

So I did indeed get an answer. It can be studied further, for sure, and I'm open to anyone's scrutiny of that answer, from either side of the equation please. But in the meantime, it is a compelling answer, that can't be discounted as a possible answer (nor is it demanded as a possible answer though either).

Therefore please DK, if you think I (and you) got the run-around and no answers in this, please re-consider.

No need to leave the forum. You are a member of this family and even though we all have different views on some things, the main thing is that we all have faith in Jesus and are saved by His blood. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ and should do our best to honor Him, and put Him first. Satan is the one who wants you to leave the forum, he has done it before and will try again. Don't give him the pleasure my friend. Stick around and be sure to stop by when you go to Grand Haven.

amen you hit the nail on the head.the reason there are so many denominations is simply this"WE ALL ARE NOT IN MY ACCORD".THAT WILL ONLY HAPPENED WE GET TO HEAVEN.AMEN.
