Good Day for CW Bullets and an 1880 IH penny

The ground was still wet yesterday from Tuesday's rain. Most of the bullets were found between 5" to 6", one bullet was 11" down. The IH penny was only about 4 " down. I was using a modified "Gone Hunting" combined mode with ferrous coin. In the past CW bullets always came in the 12-36 to 12-39 range. I was surprised that some of the below pictured bullets came in in at 11-36 to 11-38 range. Does anyone know why that usual consistent number would vary and drop down to "11."

Maybe the wet ground cased the difference. Really love looking at dug CW relics. Man I have to stop working and get my CTX out to play.

Just found a fired three-ringer myself today in semi-dry soil. Rang in 12-40 at 6".

Nice recoveries. I'd suggest Jason is correct in the FE 11 being due to moisture. Thanks for the pics. HH Randy
