I have an app on my phone thats got a precious metals calculator in it. The free version let's you input metal type, weight etc. Then it uses current market prices to calculate the worth. Its called goldo.. Im sure there's othersWhat a wonderful find. Gold and historical! When I graduated the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in 1969 my beloved wife gave me a class ring. I wore it off and on and then put it in a drawer and it moved to wherever we moved. I recently looked in the band and 14 k was stamped in it.! Is there a way at home to find out the approx. worth without driving 100 miles to a jeweler? I have two scales, one in grains and the other in grams. What percentage would be used to go from 24 to 14 k.? This is probably simple for most people but not for my 90 year old brain. Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Totally AWESOME !!!! other than a couple of gold rings found in England, Nothing older than the 50's for me. !954 College class ring which I returned to owner 50 years after the loss.Went to a old area where guys I hunt with have been finding civil war era bullets and such. So I was kidding them saying I was going to find a gold coin. So I was not hitting on anything but iron got a tone and vdi I thought was going to be a wheat penny and there it was. A 1918 New Mexico military institute class ring. Almost as good as a gold coin. It was difficult getting the pic of the year but I think you can see it
