Went to one of my favorite parks and man was it loaded ( 80 degrees today ) with people laying and sitting on the grass everywhere, people walking or playing with their dogs, frisbee tossers all over, exercise nuts hoping to be Charles Atlas some day ( Wanted to tell one skinny freak he ain't going to make it.) Had to detect around everybody.

When I first arrived there was a young gal and her pooch sitting under a tree where I entered the park. After she left I detected around the tree and found her cell phone that she had left behind so stuck it in my pocket and waited for her to return. About twenty minutes later she showed up and I was on the other side of the park and she zeroed right in on me. When she walked up I asked her if she was missing something and she said she was. I told her I figured she would show up sooner or later so I saved it for her. I gave her the phone and she thanked me graciously. She wouldn't have lost much as the phone was a piece of junk with duct tape all over it, probably holding it together.

Picking were mighty slim and I didn't hit all the park as I was using the 1500 and I pooped out quick and people were everywhere. It's a big park with a lot of places to cover. But it was an absolutely gorgeous day. Supposed to start raining again in a day or two. UGH!!

Sounds like a good day to me Unk Willy. :detecting:

Your good deed for the day!.
Nice day and good hunt that's what it's all about.

This is what my posts are going to be like in 20 or so years. Shucks it was almost like reading some of my recent posts.

GREAT POST, BILL!

When the weather turns nice, it really brings out folks here too. Watching for any specific areas for any specific events in the parks can be spots to check afterward. What bothers me the most is having to put up with the smell of Bar-B-Que. Last week a family was grilling slabs of ribs. I almost felt like holding up a cardboard sign "Hungry - homeless - thirsty - broke - Hungry" and at least I could use the detector excuse for the broke part reasoning for looking for change.

I went to one of my spots Thursday that I know has a lot of good stuff waiting to be found that I have yet to be able to do. It is a local swimming hole in the river. It was such a nice day that day I figured that it would be a good place to go and work. The river levels are almost dried up and the weather was perfect for wading and NO MOSQUITOES!!!!! I mean this place has been THE swimming hole for many years of all ages, rope swings, platforms, you name it it is there. Well to start off I have to go threw a major thick patch of woods "to be legal" (to get there) that is thick with saw palmetto and brier vines and all. I am wearing shorts mind you. I get to within viewing distance of the swimming hole and what do I hear laughter, lots of splashing, girls giggling, whooping and hollering from the males, which meant lots of people in the swimming hole.

I forgot it is Spring Break! DUH!!!!!!!

I just turned around and headed back to the truck. Scratched, scrapped, shredded, bleeding from the palmettos and vines...some day I BETTER find some goods in this swimming hole! And it better be good stuff to!!!

AAARGGG

I feel your pain man

Don
