Got a new etrac today...

I bought a new etrac today(Thanks Richard) and ive read the manual and the book by Andy but obviously its a lot of info to take in at one time. Anyway,i mainly relic hunt for civil war relics and was wondering if anyone can give me any pointers on settings(im in east tennessee) and what numbers usually are bullets,buttons...etc? How many tones should i start out using? Should i just start out using the Minelab Relic mode to begin with? Gonna take a long time to understand everything but i will be patient. Any help/pointers will be appreciated. Thanks-Kevin

Andy's book has the numbers for your Relics. Top of page 138. I don't think you'll go wrong with the Relic Mode or go to Two Tone Ferrous and an open screen (Contact Goes4ever, you can get his TTF settings).

The deal is, you're going to want to dig ALL high tones when hunting in your area. Can't afford not to. When you see the range on page 138 of Conductive numbers, you'll see why. Also the Fe 12 line goes out the window in Relic hunting.
