I haven't had the quantity of old coins this year, but I sure have been blown away with the Quality of the ones I have been finding. What a difference it makes between finding coppers in the fertilized fields versus homesteads in the woods.
I have not found a half cent since May 2003, and was overdue, this was my 14th I believe. It is close to being one of my best half cents, almost, I have a 1804 Spiked Chin variety that is a tad better I believe.
I have not cleaned this coin, this is basically how it came out of the ground.
1805 Half Cent Cohen 4 variety Large 5 with Stems.
