Got back to check hunch......

I saw an old mill, with a hardware store below it, last week in a small town near me. On a hunch, I went out today and found 3 clad and then got a dime hit next to the new sidewalk. The dime was only 1 to 2 inches down touching the cement of the newer sidewalk. It was a Barber dime, 1897 in great condition!

...hit the street parking area of an old church. Found a well worn 1917 Mercury dime, five feet from the cars whizzing by..

I view thoses hunches as a little help from a higher power, an on my shoulder, so to speak. I'm sure that almost all of us at one time or another has had the urge that one particular spot just "needs" to be hunted, often with great results.............. I don't pass up on hunches............

Thank you sincerely for all your encouragement. I went back today and found 2 wheats. One is 1935 and I cannot read the date on the other one as yet. It is tumbling as I write this. I also found a silver quarter that was destroyed by an excavator that pulled out the old sidewalk so that they could install the new sidewalk next to where I was detecting.

Same here, Larry. I saw such a place the other day.
When I told my usual hunting partner, he just sneered and kinda waved it off.
I said, "Dude, you gotta know that old road and what went on along it's byways. Why, that one spot held is near...."
He wasn't listening. I'll probably have to hunt that spot myself.
