the wife and i are just taking a little mini vacation.
had some time so i hit crystal beach today.
did not find much but had fun.

Congrats. on your finds and the opportunity to detect. Ocean water must be hard on coins. I've never had any experience with them, but it seems like any pictures I've seen of beach found coins are sure different than park finds, even the silver. How cold was it down on the gulf?

it was in the low 60's today.
yea the salt really does the job on clad. it eats the zinks up in just a few months. but gold and silver hold up well, they may have some black crud on them but it comes off easy most of the time.

yea there getting it built back up. lots of new homes going back up were the old ones were.
only one big store left in town and the beaches are being worked on slowly. But there is still sand covering most of the land and no trees at all. there is a few sort palm trees but there the really short ones.
felt strange going there and knowing that people tried to ride that storm out and died. some have never been found. the place was flatted but its springing back.
oh if you remember the stores around role over pass were people would buy bait well there totally wiped of the face of the earth not even cement slabs are there now.
