Got my Ace 250 in the mail yesterday, TKS loadin2! First impressions...

Is this their first "spider" coil design?, I think the coil might be heaver than the unit, lol. 6x9 seems like an odd choice though? But your right very solid built unit. From my limited exp with any of the new units f-2,f-5, prisim etc.....seems like the Garrett is a keeper, now if the damm snow will go away! Im impressed just by the build and the features and bench testing it. Can't wait to try it out!!!!

It sounds like you were expecting what I did almost 3 years ago. I read the reviews. I figured there were some people blowing smoke up my coil rod. But I bought one anyway. Here comes this yellow detector delivered by Mr. Brown (truck). I opened the box to find a $200 piece of crap toy. "Hey wait a minute" "this thing is nice" All adjustments right on the front! Build quality is top notch. Coil is built like a tank! It took me all of 2 minutes to figure it out. No need to read the manual. Dollar per feature is the best I have found so far.

That's what is making it successful the way I see it + the reviews.

The coil design is peerfect! It's one of the key features of the Ace that you will come to appreciate. This design will allow you to maneuver around tight spots, separate targets, allow you to get closer the metal objects and give you pinpointing information far superior to round coil. Oh did I say that it will give you a more accurate pinpoint than a round coil (once learned). Particular for targets down to the 4+ inch range. Use the 12 o'clock position of the inner coil. Not only is it very precise, listen closely to how the pinpoint signal fades. So long as you have a couple of inches of separation, the fade will give you a pretty good idea on how big the targets is. ie. A coin will give you a fairly crisp signal fade yet a deep coke can will hang onto a signal for heaps.
Have fun with your new toy (I mean detector:lol:) It will give you many hours of pleasure and have enough little secrets in it to keep you impressed for a long time to come.
Mick Evans.

When I bought mine, the manual was a laugh. The Ace250 had to be simple to operate with the manual I got.
