and that explains why I dug some of the "Stuff" pictured. This park is suppose to be hunted out but I could not tell by the trashy area I hit for 2 hours. One silver dime but a lot of targets and I will be going back soon when I have more time to spend.Any one think any of the stuff pictured is from the CW era or is it all later? Thanks for any info as I am very new to relic hunting,Ray.
PS DrBob I thought you said this park was about cleaned out:poke: Just kidding as most of it is.

well that hoe is atleast 1880s prolly later. some of those relics are relics i find at houses from late 1800s houses so very well could be civil war period stuff and by the looks of it and my opinion it is.

Well Ray, I said I was told that the park was hunted out but my only time there a couple weeks ago, I found TWO silver dimes so i guess I got you beat:tongue:

Seriously though, that is a tough park with hard ground, I did not have much fun there at all.

BTW, that looks like a harmonica reed just to the left of the hoe, pretty common in many CW camps. and those 2 round things near the dime may be tent gromets.

Great hunting, Ray!! That's the way to do it. Dig it all. Removing a lot of that stuff may unmask some goodies.

And make it easier for me next time I go back:thumbup::rofl:

Ray,

I don't have any idea if any of that is civil war era or not. Other than the harmonica reed and hoe I really didn't recognize to much of it. What I am tickled about is I dig a lot of stuff that resembles that....so makes me feel I am on the right TRAC. E-Trac that is!!!

Yes but just think how many more silvers I could have found if I were only digging coin type signals:goodnight: And I will agree that a`large part of said park is picked very clean.I was hitting a small fringe area when I discovered all the great "relics"

Thats the way it goes,I get a kick out of digging all signals like that.
You never know what you are going to dig up.
It is fun just to see what the signals are some times.
Thanks for sharing Ray

I too enjoy the digging of not only coins, but everything, as it is amazing what objects are left behind to sink into history. The steel ring with the bar attached to it on the left is part of a horses bridle, or team of horses bridle rigging. The leather straps on the left could also used for part of a newer horse bridle or team rigging. BSC
