Got out for a short time before the rain hit.:detecting:

Last Saturday I got out for a while and only found a few things. I found a 1945 Wheat Penny which ended up being the only Old Coin found. Me and another guy stayed local and tried Island Park in Fargo, N.D. for a while. That is where I found the J.I.Case Item. It was giving me a reading that was jumping around a lot so I decided to dig it and see what it was. It was about 7"-8" deep and must have been part of a Pin maybe. I found the Driver / 124 / 1936 Badge behind a School along with the Wheatie and the Skull item as well in the Pea Rock where the Playground Equipment is. Here is a pic of last Saturday's finds.[attachment 52574 WheatandMisc..jpg] Today I got out with my buddy Randy and got some Detecting Time in before the Rain came to stay. Started off slow with some Clad and wasn't finding much of anything. Then we hit a spot and started finding a few things. But wouldn't you know it, as soon as we started finding Keepers, it started to Rain bad enough that we were going to get soaked if we detected any longer. Randy found a 1954 Jefferson Nickel, a 1898 Barber Dime, an 1944 Mercury Dime and I believe he found a Wheat Penny or 2. At first I thought he was going to kick my butt and said to myself, "how am I going to beat a Barber Dime, especially an 1898?". Well it wasn't long after that that I dug an 1890 Indian Head Penny at about 3" and started hitting a couple older Wheats. I got 2 signals that gave me 28 readings and were the same depth which was about 4" deep and were spaced about 3 Feet apart. I dug the one on the left first and found a Clad Dime, so I thought the other was going to be another Clad Coin. Went and dug the other signal and it turned out to be an 1894 Barber Dime which is a Semi-Key Date booking in at $25.00. Not bad for the 1st Silver for the year. So here is what I got today. I found an 1894 Barber Dime, an 1890 Indian Head, and 7 Wheat Pennies dated 1910,1916,1919,1919-d,1941-d,1944-d, and 1946-s. Hoping to get out tomorrow if possible and it was fun getting out and working out the shoulder once again. Pic is below. Good Luck and HH to you all.[attachment 52576 BarberIndianWheats.jpg]

It has been raining here off and on for a few days now and it looks like it is going to keep going until Wednesday. I just hope for a break in the forecast tomorrow so I can try detecting again. Good Luck and HH.

Hey Jim,

Glad to see you're out and about! I hope you're feeling good and have a great year!

You are exactly right about starting off at the same place as last year. Same spot keeps producing Oldies. Feels good to get out and make some finds like the rest of the guys. I am also looking forward to what this year holds for finds and I hope it is a lot of good one's. Good Luck and HH Jack this year and look forward to your postings as well.

Hi James,

Nice finds, I guess winter is nearly over for you and back into some serious MD, we are about to move into winter here in Oz but at least we don't get snow where I am so we can detect all year round.

All the best.....Boony

nice finds James we wanted to get out also but the rain stopped us also i did manage to get a 1944 wheaties the other day cya later :super:

Was it with your Sovereign or the SE? If it ever stops Raining, Good Luck and HH to you and Marlene and thanks for the post.

Stopped at McDonald's and had a bite after it started to Rain and seen the Radar on TV and there was no way that we could have been able to get back out there and hit that area. Rain stretched from North Dakota all the way down by Oklahoma. But it was fun to get out for a few hours anyways. Good Luck and HH.:bouncy:

Starting to Snow here. That is the last thing I wanted to see here but if it continues, it will melt fast enough and I will be back out there doing my rounds. Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:
