Afternoon.. Late... for about 2 hours. The fields were muddy, so I hit a new spot where the ground is still hard. It has produced some buttons and about 5-6 wheaties. Yesterdays hunt brought me a couple more buttons, an 1863 IH a wedding band (all thats left is copper. Not sure if it started that way or was a cheapie gold plated, but it was about 11") and what appears to be a 1787 Nova Eborac (small head) or a 1788 Georgivs III Rex from about 9-10". Hopefully after it soaks for awhile, it can be positively ID'd. I will be keeping my fingers crossed. It is such a shame that fertilizer corrodes copper so badly.
