You guys were sure right about the 5.75 concentric coil for my Vaq! I only had an hour to play with it out in my yard today. Its a totally different machine with that coil ! I had a signal that was good going one way and sounded like trash the other way, I was running the disc just at pull tab. As I had read from some of you guys in here, I worked around the target with short slow passes, more like twitching back and forth, I finally got a good tone both ways, Dug it and had a nickle and penny in the same hole at about 3". Not 3" away was also a pull tab, the square kind. I love this coil ! I know i passed on that dig before, there was a fresh dig not 2' away. I found those as well as 3 more pennies (oldest 74') and a 74' dime, 1- 22 cal. cartridge, 1-243 cartridge, 1- mashed beer can and a small piece of copper tubing.
The sweet spot on this coil is small, I'd say about the size of a golf ball, maybe a quarter.
I know it sounds funny, but I kinda felt like I was tickling that signal out of that bad spot.
But I'm pretty sure some of you guys know that exact feeling.
Thanks so much to you guys that lead me to this combo !

I cant wait to use mine seems like one snow storm after another here:ranting:but its one heck of a combo.

you will love that little coil the more you use it. it makes you slow down and overlap your sweeps which leads to more finds. the coil will open your hunted sites back up again for all the masked targets that were missed with the stock coil. it's a must have coil for sure!.........roger

I feel for you Jay4. The weather here is warming up rather nicely. Around lunch time its nice enough to go out for a couple hours. Bad thing right now is the ground is so muddy. The detector works great in the mud, but it's a real pain and leaves the site looking rough.

Good luck friend, I hope you get to get out there very soon.
Like me, I know you are gonna love your combo as well !!!!!

Good things do come in small packages.

I learned the small coil trick back when I used the Nautilus IIb. One day I ordered that 6" coil and it was like a whole new machine and my hunting sites seemed like virgin locations.

I'm waiting now on a 5.75 coil Rick Hart said he's sending me to replace a bad coil that was on a Cutlass II uMax I bought from him a couple weeks ago on the classifieds.

I can't wait to try it on the Cutlass.

The nice thing is, besides it's improvement in trash separation, it's almost as deep as the standard coil.

Yes and I'll bet it does better on very small gold too.

Hopskippy, the good news is im leaving for florida next week going to disney and tampa. If i could just convince my wife to let me take the vaquero into the park i could pay for the trip.

See, you should of gotten her one also. Then you could be, "doing it :twodetecting: in the park"....

I don't think there any difference between it and the stock coil as far as depth goes. Besides using it for trashed out areas its great in heavy brush, no spokes to hang up.

I was pleasantly surprised on the depth of the 5.75 for the

Just remember to lift the coil 8-10" above the target and swing...if the target goes away dig it,If it doesnt then its cans or large Iron.

I posted a thread already about my new 5.75 uMax concentric coil. It has totally blown me away! Man, wish I had known this secret years ago!

Next I plan to get another Tejon and I'll order the 5.75 for it.

I'm glad it works super on the V too.

This little coil is the first I've ever seen that can get nearly twice it's diameter in an air test. No wonder everyone has been bragging about it.

The 5.75 coils are my favorite - I mostly hunt trashy areas and then brushy area the next most - it gets the job done well. Mostly use the concentric but also have the widescan when soil conditions call.
I probably use the 5.75 at least 90% of the time on my Tesoro's.
