grange halls

hi all, Just wondering has anyone ever hunted any grange halls? If so did you have any luck finding anything? I was looking over some old plat maps of our area and noticed a few grange halls which a couple are still standing. Just wondering is it worth the time to hunt these spots? Thanks all and HH.

Anywhere people congregated are good places to hunt. I've hunted a few and have dug some nice early 1900's coins. I remember digging a sweet Standing quarter like it was yesterday! In addition to meetings, some Grange Halls were used for wedding receptions, polling places, 4-H meetings, picnics and other events when local people simply needed a place to get together. (like a rural community center) Best way to determine whether or not they are worth your time is to get out there and hunt them. Someone may have already detected them. But even so, there might still be some old coins just waiting to be found. HH Randy

I'd sure be getting permission. Any new "old" site is worth swinging a coil over.
