Great few days @ the 1820's Acadian in St. Tammany

Louisiana Ken

That old place is still giving up treasures. I finally dug up a pre civil war military button (battle for New Orleans era I believe). I think it's in great shape. It shows 16 6 pointed stars circling an eagle and anchor. The back reads Double Gilt with 2 6 pointed stars. I attempted to look up this variety and couldn't find one with the back which clearly reads "Double * Gilt *" (any help would be appreciated!). I also found a mint state (dug condition) 1859 O dime. This is the 3rd seated dime I've found there and the best yet. I also found a lion thing. It's stamped "Sterling Silver" and not sure what it went to (British military I hope). Again I found an assortment of bullets (tired of digging them) and a few square nail. Not shown are two 1943 P war nickels and a few wheat pennies. I can't wait to get back there.

Thanks for looking!

Kenny

Thanks for showing us your latest finds Ken! Congratulations. You'd probably been more surprised had the seated been a different mintmark other than the "O".
