Great plan, but not so good of a result.

We just made a trip from Fl. to south Ga. just to get away for awhile. I did some research on old swimming areas near where we were going and came up with what sounded like a good prospect. It was an area near an old covered bridge that used to get allot of swimmers years ago. We located the bridge and what may have been the area of the old swimming hole. I spent an hour or so in the water with little results. The rains in Ga. the week before had washed the swimming area full of sand, I would sink up to my knees at times then it would drop off to deep to get in. Here is a short spin of my trip. I got some clad , a toy 4 wheeler and some junk. Overall the exsperience was priceless. Beautiful part of the country. Maybe better luck next time. HH

We stayed on lake Sinclair in south Ga.

THANKS FOR LOOKING.

The covered bridge and stream remind me a lot of the area we lived in when I was in junior and senior high school. And we swam in the the stream in the deeper holes. We had little of value to drop. There may have been the odd silver dime or quarter that could drop out of a pocket; even though clad was getting pretty widely circulated. In my neighborhood very few of us had class rings or jewelry of any type. Sometimes we'd fish early for trout, then swim when the sun was high.

Thanks for sharing the trip!

Hey PPJ, those are some great picture's ......I can imagine how great it was to be there in person..Thanks for sharing...Joe

That certainly is beautiful country to hunt in. Did you have any luck downstream of the swimming hole, flooding might have swept stuff downstream.

Cheers Mate,

We have a river that is host to a "tubing the rapids" with thousands of people who visit it weekly. The only way you can get into those secret areas where the treasure hides is after a long dry spell.......and it's a little tough between all the rocks.......but treasure likes to lurk there.

as said that is one beautiful spot maybe a return hunt during summer when the the water level lower there might be more visible rocks, crevices and other hiding places
