GTI 2500 and WHITE NEW DETECTOR

I have seen guys like that get banned from forums in the past. They like to bait forums, then post about it. On the long run, they and their product end up getting a lot of negative comments. Most of us have been around a long time and can see through such posts. Anyone who tries to promote a different different brand on any brand-specific forum is going to get ripped! I wonder if he is going to play the same games on the other brand specific forums? I personally doubt it......he's probably already lost a lot of credibility.

What's interesting, is that on April 1, Dave Johnson, one of the Fisher brand Engineers, went on the Vision forum and congratulated Whites on their new machine!. I was impressed.:clapping: When someone makes a great unit, then why rubbish it.
Personally to date, I find the imaging feature to be the most effective visual discimination tool that I've used. The audio on the GTI isn't half bad either, even though I'd like to see the number of tones increased.
One of the outstanding things about Garrett customers, as is reflected on this forum, is the friendliness of the users! I haven't seen such friendliness with any other brand. Folks never fell threatened by what other brands can do and know full well how well Garrett machine operate. I don't know exactly what it is about this brand that does it, I just hope that Garretts keeps doing it.

I have read just about every book Charlie put out and one message he always pushes is to shop around and compare other brands before you choose and he dosen't knock companies. I guess we aren't an unsecure lot. Most of us own other brand machines anyway.:garrett:

I have an idea that the next one they come out with will blow everything else away Old Charles and crew work in mysterious ways..:)

One big reason I choose to get the 2500 was because of the sizing feature. I love this machine & would never give it up.

I recovered three Barber coins in one hole under a tree root at a meaured 14 inches with the 2500. Is that enough depth?

I also think the new Whites detector is too expensive. I owned a GTI 2500 for 5 years & was very brand loyal. I didn't think I could live without
the imaging which I found to be accurate to 6". I loved the all metal mode. To date the deepest coin that i could confirm was found with this
machine, a silver quarter at 7 inches, my first & only whisper. The 2500 is a touch & go machine, you can't tweak it. After 5 years of butt whippings
from a xlt & a Nautilus i called Garretts & talked to a engineer about my problem. I went over my settings with him and the only advice he could
give me was to change my frequency. I bought a xlt. The advantages of a xlt over the 2500 are numerous, tone id, vdi numbers, gain control, recovery
speed control + many others. The 2500 discriminates against iron to much, I never found a coin with it close to iron. Its a cherry picker. If you are not a tetchy person the 2500 is a fine machine. Whites pin pointers are not worth a dang, don't ever waste your money on one. Harbor freight has one for
$15.00 that is as good or better than the Whites. If its just pure depth you want nothing beats a Nautilus. What a ramble. I am not a expert by any
means, just the facts as i see them.
