It was HOT today here in middle Ga. Heat index 107-110! Decided to do some scouting after reading Andy's Treasure Hunting Handbook it was so hot. It brought out in a couple of chapters places I haven't even thought of. Decided to scout virtually all within half mile of where I have been hunting by driving slowly and pulling over and studying places I ride by. Here's something funny while doing that.... A very nice young lady next to a place I wanted to hunt was cooling off in her front yard with a water hose while laying in the sun in her kini. I stopped and got her attention, she walked over and I just wanted to ask if she knew who owned the 3 empty lot's next store? On her way to the car I noticed she was more than likely a college student seeing how it was two blocks away. Oh well she didn't know, the scenery was good. Back to the story. I found about 10 places I had been overlooking and got permission at two. Not in kini's though. One of them I was looking at from the road when a guy rides up on a gator and I asked him if he knew who owned the lots and that I wanted to detect them. Well he is the head groundskeeper for this huge place in a very old part of town and he said have at it and that the largest oldest building, a well over 100 years old part of a hospital was due to be torn down soon and that I could come find him after I'd gotten all the treasure out of this place and he'd take me there........I'm stoked about that! It took me about 45 minutes skimming the surface cause it was blistering about two oclock today. Before I even got away from the truck my second swing with the E Trac got a wheat, then another. Then my first Buffalo! Then a sweet little pendant .925 with a birthstone in it. Dug a few great sounding nails which one had a zincon with it. Then another Rosie, I've been doing great on them in the last month, four in all in that time. Several zincons then one more wheat and a clad dime. I'm headed back for the late afternoon hunt with the Sunray X 5 coil attached.........
