All the stuff going on with the loss of my step dad makes ones mind stress out! Needed some de-stress medicine so I went for a short dig. I went over to a place I have been hitting off and on. Here are the finds - a 1940 merc, 5 wheats, two WWI eagle buttons, a disabled vets tag, a 1940 nickel, a harmonica reed, a doo-dad, and a mask pendant that was from an earlier hunt there.

Here are the WWI eagle buttons and the vets tag. Neat to find them in the same hunt. The buttons were both in the driveway about 10 feet apart.

After I got home and cleaned my finds a buddy called me who knew I was stressing out and said I have a site come dig with me, so I did!
It was an old school site in the woods, the iron was masking many targets, so after an hour we gave up with only a few finds to show. here is my best keeper from there, This is a Knocker button. I have found a couple of these before and a train guy told me that the knocker was the man who went along the locomotive and used a club to knock on different parts of the train to tell what needed tightened etc....

I also got this interesting find. It has two frogs on it. One is holding an umbrella. It is silver plated, and the other side is the same.

Then we left and went a looking for a new site. I spotted a place where I knew there had to have been an old house many years ogo. There was a windmill, a huge evergreen, and a pile of foundation stones. After securing permission we got started! See the rest of the story below!

but it IS fully functional. Tim had always wanted one (for some reason), and heard of a man in Ohio (I think) who sells them, mainly to the Amish. Got in touch with him and he shipped one out to us. Tim built the tower and then assembled the top part and set it on the tower. We've had it for about 18-20 years now. Tim climbs up there once a year and changes the oil in it to keep it working properly.
