Came back to Ohio a month early from Florida so wife could have hip surgery and never fully got my fix metal detecting. It has been raining for a week and “stir-crazy” seems appropriate to describe my current mental state. So between rain drops, I grabbed my Manticore w M8 coil and headed to my front yard for a little fun. First I should mention that I have hunted the front yard with my Excal, CTX 3030 w 17” coil as well as several Equinox w 15” coils so I wasn’t expecting much. I concentrated my hunt along the driveway and paths delivery people take through the yard. Spent just ½ hour before it started raining again and found 5 Lincolns; 1951, 1953-D, 1958-D, 1968 and 1981. Was actually happy to find 3 Wheaties! They were all about 4” deep; just beyond the range of my Garrett Carrot pointer at the surface. Sometimes ya just need to get out just for a little while; of course, to metal detect. I feel much better, now.
