Sorry I didn't post sooner but I have been gone all day. Tami also tells me you have some good news to share! Come on let's hear it!

Happy Birthday, Bro Pete! I hope you had a nice day to rejoice in it! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Well, besides getting up this morning and looking forward to the urology appointment downstate in Saginaw, I figured this was going to be a bummed out birthday....like pretty much all the rest I have had all my life...no gifts, no party, nothing other than looking forward to going to the VA and getting travel pay...fills our tank and gives us a little extra.

I had an interview yesterday and knew tomorrow I and everyone else who applied would have a meeting - all day long...but that didn't mean any of us would be hired. As we travelled down the expressway on the way to Saginaw my cell phone rang. The woman on the other end Karla from the place I applied yesterday said "We have decided we want to hire you" I said Thank you Karla. She reminded me of the meeting tomorrow and then I hung up. Sherry looked puzzled as that was a name she had never heard before. I said "Oh Karla? Oh she is just the one from (I said the place name) that said I AM HIRED!!!! Sherry was so thrilled. I mean no income has been stressing her alot and in turn she has added to my stress.

What a wonderful birthday gift from our Heavenly Father!!! Thank you God. The position is a worker at a care center for the physically and mentally handicapped people. There are 3 facilities...one a half hour away and two (one for men and one for women) right here in Houghton Lake....within a mile of where I live. Won't cost all my paychecks to cover gas costs to get to work....God had that worked out too!!!

Everything I have done since high school all seemed to come together and meshed into being qualified for this position. God has been 'prepping me' for this all my life. I was asked about days off and said Sundays mornings would be nice to have off as my family are Christians and my wife plays the music for the church so she needs to be there. They said that the clients don't have a church of their own and we have no minister so if you would like to take some of the people with you to church that would be fine. I would not only get to church but use their van to bring people to the church (and hopefully to Christ) on a Sunday I would have to work and Sherry could drive herself in our van. Again, God had this worked out before hand.

There are other things like taking clients to their appointments, taking them out to dinner or lunch (the company pays for my meal as well) and to movies...and the company pays my way in too. I will also get free training in Basic First Aid and CPR and other training at the expense of the company. The facility I will be working at has 6 clients right now and each has physical handicaps....loss of arm, foot, leg, etc, I will help them in their daily needs, make beds, clean up, make meals for them, etc.

There is medical coverage after 90 days, other benefits too and it is full time - not part time. I could even get more than 40 hours in some times.

There is more I know I am forgetting but God has this all worked out and He must have just decided I needed a GOOD birthday present. He gives GOOD gifts.

Also, another good news thing for this day....my prostate is fine and don't have to see the urologist until this time next year.

We also got to spend the whole day with Leelan and he was such a character today. He put smiles on the faces of many Veterans at the VA Hospital.

8 more minutes and I won't be just 60. Be 60 and a day

We did also celebrate the birthday and the job at a restaurant (with the excess from the travel pay after paying for a tank of gas).

Oh yeah....Got to visit with one of my sisters who I have not seen in several years as well. She lives in Saginaw...just a few miles from the VA Hospital. And getting information on how to file a disability claim with the VA for PTSD and for disabilities associated with Agent Orange poisoning. Hope I can get the disablility(ies) I should have gotten for the past 30 years.

Glory to God!!!!!!!

It was BETTER than I could have thought it would be,

Happy Birthday Pete!!!!

Congrats on the job Pete!

Thank you Lord for coming thru for Pete at the right time and with a job where he will be helping others. Happy Birthday, Pete.

Happy birthday . And glag to hear the great news. GOD is good.

What an Awesome God we have, Bro.Pete, by staying patient and in prayer (fervent) He has opened doors for you that is just hard to believe in the flesh but in the Spirit we can truly behold the wonders of our blessed Savior, Jesus! I know you were so disappointed so many times, but our Lord was saving you for just the right job, because you are His Child and knew just where He wanted you and that is to help the physically disabled and with full time work is great plus benefits in 90 days! I pray the VA comes through for you and you receive what you should have been getting for a long, long time! The best part of this is you will be able to take them to your church services and even witness to them while you are caring for their needs! That will be a part of your ministry and you couldn't be blessed more in the Lord! Going out for dinner and having all this on your 60th birthday is a blessing beyond belief, but the Lord is good and supplies even more than what we need or want...sooo Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for answered prayers and Your blessings for Pete and Sherry and for them to be with Leelan for a special birthday! My heart is happy for you both and May God keep on blessing and blessing you with better health and financially! Glad to hear you had a clear health checkup, too! Amen! Ma Betty

might go to bed early and keep warm under the blankets. I am cold...not the house.

I pray the Lord warms you up and I have an idea it is your nerves, Bro. Pete, because so much has happened...as I am like that and just shiver when too much happens at once! May God Bless with warmth and sweet peace! Amen! Ma Betty

Could be Betty. Also the weather is wet and cold...one of those days the cold gets down to the bones. Think I will crawl back in bed...don't have to be up this early anyway...though I will have to check with my neighbor...he had the State Police out walking around his house in the snow this morning at 4:45 am. And, my sensored porch light was on this morning too so will have to check. Night...back to bed.
