Hard work, Old silver

AJ in PA

Member
I broke today's hunt into 2 parts. The morning was spent at a new area and after an hour or so of digging junk I wandered into a spot
with just older coins. The 2 Mercs were found right away and then old nickels and Indians started to surface. Hopefully, a return visit next week will turn up more goodies.
The second half of the day was spent at a spot that was very good to me in the past but the finds were getting thin . I was looking at the area
and decided to try something a little different. All of the "easy" coins were gone and I knew that if I was going to find something worthwhile here
I would have to put more effort into it. I was hunting the steep inclines and poking my search coil into thick patches of bramble.
It paid off. A 12-46 signal rang through and I literally had to crawl into a tight spot on my hands and knees to dig the signal. A beautiful Barber Quarter
was the last coin of the day for me. Another great day with the E-Trac! Happy hunting.

Congrats on a great hunt ! That is a sweet Barber quarter.

Fantastic finds AJ - the Barber Quarter looks fantastic ! :clapping:

great job! hard work pays off! im like you, i will put my coil into places where sometimes i wonder if i DID get a signal, what it would take to dig a hole there.

I think most folks would move a mountain for a sweet 12-46 signal although I
do avoid the Poison Ivy......LOL

Beautiful quarter! Dimes, nickels and indians aren't bad either

OMGosh!!! Superb!!!!! I would love to have a day like that...it's gonna happen!! Great job and congrats!! Can't wait to find a Barber quarter.

Beautiful coins! Great story. Thanks for the pictures.

Awesome finds...It is getting to the point up my way that we have to go into places the average hunter would turn his nose up at to find anything good...We have hit woods on hills, woods loaded with pricker bushes, etc.
