I broke today's hunt into 2 parts. The morning was spent at a new area and after an hour or so of digging junk I wandered into a spot
with just older coins. The 2 Mercs were found right away and then old nickels and Indians started to surface. Hopefully, a return visit next week will turn up more goodies.
The second half of the day was spent at a spot that was very good to me in the past but the finds were getting thin . I was looking at the area
and decided to try something a little different. All of the "easy" coins were gone and I knew that if I was going to find something worthwhile here
I would have to put more effort into it. I was hunting the steep inclines and poking my search coil into thick patches of bramble.
It paid off. A 12-46 signal rang through and I literally had to crawl into a tight spot on my hands and knees to dig the signal. A beautiful Barber Quarter
was the last coin of the day for me. Another great day with the E-Trac! Happy hunting.
