Has anyone ever found any coins that had a ferrous

reading of 10 or 11? I got some really good repeatable signals today but had a ferrous of 11 and all turned out to be junk. I'm running conductive and multi. Any comments on this?

I read a couple of my US 2-cent pieces at 11 / 40 and 11 / 41. HH Randy

This happens frequently to me in the U.K., they often turn out to be deep (more than 8") copper, around the 1800 era

Yep. I pretty much ignore the FE numbers though. I have found silver halves as low as 07, 08, 09 and 10 on the FE side. But the CO numbers were still high. If the CO is in the 40's you better dig it. The 30's can be Indian heads. In the COs in 20's and teens I go by depth. If it's deeper than modern trash I'll dig any good signal. The FE will bounce around, but the CO is generally really stable. So stable that I know what I am digging before I dig most of the time.

I agree with watching the CO numbers .The FE will bounce, but the CO are very stable.I know what im digging 3/4 of the time they are so acurate.Watch the depth on your signals ..that helps me determine if i should dig or not most of the time..Good luck with you Hunt.HH

almost open all the way to get ferrous of 07, 08, if you are using conduct you must be stopping every 5 seconds to check the bombardment of high tones. Tell me you use ferrous, it seem every time I open the Quick Mask below 10, I start digging iron or maybe my soil has way to much iron...

Strictly Conductive with the E-Trac/Multi tone for me.I Dont use all metal except double checking ocassional targets ,always loaded in my quickmask screen. So No need for ferrous sounds that ive run into yet.
