headphone recomendation

New member
I am in the market for some new headphones. Which ones would you recomend. I did a search for headphones, but didn't find much.

I have the 'Gray Ghost' original. They are superb for faint tones and very quiet as far as not hearing
any outside noise and very comfortable to wear. 1 off/on switch and 1 volume control. They cost about $89, not cheap but well worth it.

Go WIRELESS,,,You won't regret it, I and several other e-tracers have the Auvio 33-283 from Radio Shack and they have been reduced to 49.97 from 70.00. Check out post on page #6.
THEY ARE GREAT

I've tried the Jolly Rogers, Grey Ghosts, Nugget Busters, stock Koss as well as a few other brands. The best I have found so far are the Sunray Pro Golds. After trying the Sunray phones all the other sound washed out ion the E-Trac The one thing I don't like about the Pro Golds is the cord tends to get in the way (The plug turns in toward the arm cup on the Etrac.) That didn't seem to happen with the Grey Ghost headsets.

I posted the same question on this forum 1 1/2 years ago.

I think any of the high end headphones will do the job - but I ended up getting a pair of Ultimate Grey Ghost's - they sound great - have nice features - and are very well built !
High quality headphones are the only way to go - no sense having a $1500.00 Stereo with $25.00 pair of Speakers !

Good luck !

For the past couple of weeks I've been using a $10 pair of ear buds I picked up from Best Buy. It's just too hot for ear muffs and to be honest, I can't tell the difference. One of the ear phones in my Pro Golds stopped working after my 4th or 5th use so I'm not eager to buy another pair of expensive headphones. I've still got my standard phones that came with it but it's too hot to use them.

Yes, I picked up that 1779 half Reale using ear buds.

Sunray Pro Golds

I've tried several and own all of them Grey Ghost, Koss, Sunray and the wireless Auvio. But my favorite are a pair of Sony's you can buy at Best Buy, Wal-Mart and many truck stops. I like them because the cable is 78 inches long (not a coil) and has plenty of slack to dig and move around without having to remove them. They are very light weight with NO ear fatigue after many hours of use. Cost $20.
