Heard on the news today...

Seems a minister has been holding church meetings in his home. To us that is not a problem. Apparently, someone complained and a city official paid the minister a visit and asked questions...
Do you hold meetings in your home? The minister said yes

Do you sing praise songs in your home? The minister said yes.

Do you read from the Bible during these meetings? The minister said yes.

There were a couple other questions which I forgot. Here is the result...

The city official told him until further notice he could not hold meetings in his home. He needs to apply for a 'multi-purpose use' status of his home. Since most homes are not in an area zoned for multi-purpose use chances are he will not get the approval or be fined if he continues to do so.

Somehow this reminds me of metal detecting in parks.

Anyway, I once heard when Christians met they would draw a part of an image in the ground with their foot or a stick/staff. The other would draw the other half to show he too was a Christian and not someone out to 'catch them and persecute them'. That's the story I heard about how th fish design came to represent Christians.

All because of a misunderstanding of the Constitution's meaning of religion between church and state! Which also states there should be no prohibition of Religious Worship! The gov't has no control over God and our worshipping of Him! We with God outrule the gov't and it's ungodlly laws by some of those who don't believe in our Savior, Jesus, and want that name stopped, but He will prevail and God's Will will be done no matter what! Just hang on to our blessed Redeemer and witness when a way is opened by God's Holy Spirit to do so! Please save those who will be saved and then come quickly, Lord Jesus, and take us Home to Glory! Our nation and our freedoms are quickly going down the drain. We have no freedom of religion. Our government is starting to take control of areas that just a decade ago would not have seemed possible to mess with. Our homes are not our homes anymore. We need God now more than ever.

Dear Fellow Seekers,

God's Word, in the book of Revelations, clearly tells us that in the 'end times', there will be an agreement made between the United States of America and the 'mother church' of Italy. The agreement will state that no one will worship on any day but Sunday and that people will resort to worshiping in their homes to avoid persecution. Obviously the book of Revelations doesn't mention the 'name' The United States, but it does elude to a power that can be none other than the United States. When the Sunday 'laws' come into effect, people will be jailed, beaten, and killed for their faith, if they worship on any day other than Sunday. Actually, in many southern states, Sunday laws have been on the books for decades but never enforced. But we are not to worry because Jesus said "...see I have told you before hand..." that these things would happen. When one considers the troubles the world is experiencing, especially with North Korea, we are living in the end times of
'There will be wars & rumours of wars' throughout the world. I find God's Word, in general very comforting but the book of Revelation even more so because Jesus clearly tells us what to expect. So don't worry brothers & sister in Christ, our God is stronger than the devil of this world. Oh...by the way...in the end, the evil one will get his due and will never rear his ugly head ever again. You all think there's treasures here on earth................just wait until you see heaven and the new earth! It will blow our minds! And we won't want or need a metal detector anymore because we'll 'See' what the 'Treasure' is without digging. Imagine that.

Hi Roscue2! There are already laws on the books for baking and selling foods in your home! The Health Department can close you down should anyone complain about your doing that or if they would happen to get sick whether it was the food or not! Even for garage or yard sales many cities make you get a permit and won't allow them very often at the same address! So far we haven't been stopped but last year when a home is sold and before another person or family can move into a house or an apartment they have to purchase an $80.00 occupancy permit! There is always something passed to cause more money to be paid out! Like DK posted, We don't own our homes or the land because don't pay your taxes and other bills and you will be out of it quickly! But we are better off so far than many third world nations....But don't know for how long!!!! God Bless! Betty
