Hello from Missouri / new XP Deus owner

bikerbob24

New member
Well I took the plunge and ordered a new XP Deus , recently retired and I have rediscovered Metal Detecting now that I have time. Looking forward to the learning curve and going over some of my old ground from years ago. My wife and I are looking forward to a lot of traveling in our RV and seeing some new sights....:twodetecting:

Congratulations looking forward to talking with you very soon Bob

Welcome BikerBob,
What part of the country are you from??
Lots of great folks on this forum with a wealth of knowledge.
Don't be afraid to ask questions and post a bunch of pictures of your finds.
Glad to have you aboard.

Whereabouts in MO I'll be coming through the first of the month to visit
my Grandkids and swing my Deus...
I had a couple permissions in Carthage that I never got to do so I'll
be getting to them.
I have a couple years with my Deus and would be happy to show you
what I've learned.

I am about 70 miles south of St.Louis near Potosi , lots of history down this way with mid 1700's settlements for lead mining. I even pulled a 1902 Indian Head penny out of the front yard today !! depth was around 11 inches. That was a surprise , but there was a church close by [on the property line] in the late 1800's to 1918 and the old wagon road runs through my property. I am really impressed with the Deus so far and am planning a trip to two old 1800 home sites next week .

I was playing around with the Gold Field program , manual GB ,sensitivity at 95 , reactivity at 3 with the 13 inch coil. Still learning this machine , its going to be a keeper. The signal on the penny was kinda weird , sounded very faint and kinda scratchy , to be honest I thought it might be iron at first but it I am glad I took the time to dig it.:detecting:

ive been digging those sounds too! they have produced some good items in my first four hunts took my trash program and only dug those sounds and got some iron but got the goodies too. I was hunting in the trashiest place on earth good way to pick through it. I like the faint glass scratch sound !
